Todd Clippard

I have been the preacher for the Burleson church since February 1996. Prior to this, I worked as an associate with churches in Paris, TN and Prescott, AZ.

I am a native of Dexter, MO and a 1985 graduate of Dexter Senior High School. I am a 1988 graduate of Freed-Hardeman with a B.S. in Agriculture and a minor in Business. While at F-H, I met and married Rhonda Bridges of St. Louis. We have two children, Shelby (Jackson) and Jeffrey; both are FHU graduates, and both are married and teach school in TN. We got our first grandchild (Eloise Jackson) in February 2019. We were blessed with two more granddaughters in 2021. Maisy Clippard was born in May and Eveline Jackson in July. Of all our duties, we love grand-parenting the best!

From the time I was a kid, I always wanted to live in Alabama. And not just in Alabama, but in the very community where I now live. My maternal grandparents were born within five minutes of where I live. When the Burleson church asked me to come work with them, I couldn’t have been happier! I was blessed to still have my grandparents living at that time, and they were thrilled!

I have lived a lot of places and preached in many others. I can say that Marion County, Alabama is the best place I’ve ever lived. We raised our children here and we hope to spend the rest of our days right here.

Beyond that, the Burleson church is a great family! We have a long and rich history, but we are not bound to the past. We are both a “thus says the Lord” and a forward-thinking bunch, and the Lord has blessed us greatly for pursuing our vision for the present and future.

We invite you to join us on our great journey. We would love to adopt you into our great family!

OTHER WORK

I have been blessed to do the Lord’s work in areas beyond the Burleson community. I made 14 trips to Ghana, West Africa from 1999-2015. The 2009 trip included travel to Liberia, West Africa where we conducted a 3-day seminar on Restoration Principles to more than 100 denominational preachers in Monrovia. The 2011 trip included a week in Kenya, East Africa working with a newly established congregation and doing personal evangelism in Nyahururu.

I began work with the Jacksonville AL church and House to House – Heart to Heart in October, 2001. I now serve as Respondent for Bible questions submitted to that website. In this work, I have received and answered some 5000 Bible questions since 2004. I also work in church relations and editorial roles. I continue this work, now overseen by the East Ridge church in Chattanooga. I also work with the Midway church in Jasper, AL as a regular speaker at Polishing the Pulpit and PTP-Spark where my emphasis is working with young people ages 10-25.

I have served as a part-time instructor for Fishers of Men since 2001. From 2011-2020, I hosted a local weekly live television question and answer program titled “What Does the Bible Say?”

On July 18-19, 2019, I participated in a debate streamed live on Facebook. The propositions were the Calvinist view of salvation vs the necessity of baptism for remission of sins. The debate can be seen on YouTube.
